What is Guardant?

Guardant involves both hardware devices and software services for applications defense against piracy and unauthorized use.

The heart of protection is a dongle. It is a relatively small electronic USB device with a microchip and memory. Guardant SDK tools help to write licenses and bind application with it both automatically and using Guardant API.

How does Guardant Work?

Whereas protection methods are quite sophisticated and diverse, the Guardant operating principles can be clearly outlined as follows:

• A protected application calls the dongle which has to be plugged in.
• The dongle returns certain information to the application.
• This allows application to authenticate the dongle. If returned information is correct, then protected application continues it’s work. Otherwise it stops running.

In order to implement protection developer writes unique data (which is only known to him) into the dongle. After this procedure application has to be bound with the dongle.
